Multi-inverter microgrid systems, particularly those with loop topology, offer higher power supply reliability and robustness compared to conventional radial distribution systems. In meshed communication-less protection schemes have proved be ineffective for multi-inverter microgrids due bidirectional flow, limited controlled fault currents generated by the voltage source converters interfacing energy network. This makes communication-assisted line preferable such systems despite necessity communication means. While these are effective, their depends much on availability. requires a back-up path in case main one fails bringing up cost issue that hinders uptake. paper proposes novel low-cost based directional blocking strategy can operate as well any scheme using means between terminals.
